Sherlock : Series Review

             

One of the world's most famous fictional detective Sherlock Holmes, gets a modern retelling spinoff in the BBC series "Sherlock". Set in the modern backdrops of modern London, Sherlock series provides an entire new perspective to the original Victorian era Sherlock Holmes which was penned down by the legendary Sir Arthur Conan Boyle.  

            Modern day Sherlock Holmes is played by Benedict Cumberbatch and Dr. Watson is played by Martin Freeman. The duo is extremely talented and have great chemistry between them. Other supporting cast include Mark Gatiss as Mycroft Holmes , Rupert Graves as Inspector Lestrade and Una Stubbs as Mrs Hudson. "Moriarty", Sherlock's arch nemesis is played by Andrew Scott and Sherlock's love interest "Irene Adler"  is played by none other than Lara Pulver. As the series is set in modern times, use of technology and resources is highlighted really well. Every episode is indirectly based on the original books with subtle hints to other stories. All the characters are written brilliantly and the dialogues have certain elegance to them which can only from the English folks. 

            Sherlock is a must watch for all the fans of Sherlock Holmes, and even for those who love a good mystery series. The series is made to near perfection and can be considered one of the best in its genre.

Fairy Tail : Anime Review

  Power of friendship and the bonds that comrades share, this is the main plot of Fairy Tail. Set in a fictional world of mages and guilds, the story follows the adventures of Natsu Dragneel, a member of the popular wizard guild Fairy Tail, as he searches the fictional world of Earth-land for the dragon Igneel. Based on a manga by Hiro Mashima, the TV series was only supposed to run for 48 episodes. But it proved so popular, it was expanded to more than 170 episodes, and has already spun off one feature, several OVA’s and loads of character merchandise. The anime revolves around the main protagonist Natsu and his friends Lucy, Happy, Erza and Gray.
